Looks like we made it, moms! By that I mean we made it to Memorial Day, aka the unofficial start of summer. Ignore the fact that we still have one full month of school left here in the Northeast and my summer doesn't technically start until the week of July 4th. But no matter—we still revel in the fact that it's now acceptable to stay up later, eat ice cream every day, and eat dinner outside whenever possible.

This long weekend, I'm actually looking for a chance to slow down after the madness of the last couple of weeks (I'm looking at you, field day, music field trip, state tests, and science fair). The fact that the weather here is feeling more like November than mid-May is actually taking the pressure off of having this mega kickoff-to-summer weekend. We're planning to spend time at the movies, shopping Memorial Day sales for some home decor replacements, and just not having to rush anywhere. Hope you're slowing down this weekend too!

I think we need more anti - "your life stops being fun when you have a baby" propaganda. Some more propaganda we're not falling for right now: normalizing the most insane baby names, weekends are for running around for kids' activities, MILs are the worst.
