The Mom Group Chat 6.13.25
the moms are returning their eggs, rocking summer outfits, and watching nostalgic movies
When I was growing up, my mom used to hold an annual family meeting shortly after school ended to discuss our summer plans. After talking through each week filled with camp and sports schedules and our yearly trip to visit our out-of-town grandparents, she'd promptly state "And, with that, summer's over." I used to think she was crazy for saying that when summer had just begun—but the older I get, the more I get her. We've made it through the craziness of Maycember, moms, but I'm suddenly feeling like Labor Day is already looming in the calendar and the next few months of summer fun are going to fly by in a blink.
If you're feeling the same, don't fret—we're here to help. For the time being, I'm choosing to focus on what's coming up next in the calendar instead of overwhelming myself with all our summer plans. For starters, I'm finalizing our Father's Day weekend activities and prepping for what I'm making for our family cookout to celebrate dad. And if you're still in need of a last-minute gift (no judgement), check out this list of presents that will arrive just in the nick of time. Next, I'm making a low-key summer bucket list for my family that even includes some nostalgic summer movies to watch when we inevitably need a rainy-day activity. Check in next week for more helpful articles on slowing down and simplifying summer so we can all enjoy every minute ☀️. Talk soon!
