The Mom Group Chat 6.20.25
the moms are reclaiming the landline, cooking 30 minute dinners, and making summer special
Hey, moms, how are you holding up this week? Personally, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with life stuff. We're moving into our new house next week, which is both exciting and a ton of work 🤪. Anyone else basically living out of boxes right now while prepping for a summer move?
But in the midst of this at-home chaos, I'm still trying to focus on having a slowed-down summer filled with simple joys. For starters, I'm streamlining my summer wardrobe with this classic closet staple I'm wearing on repeat. I'm also set on getting my yearly reading goal back on track (please tell me I'm not the only one experiencing a major reading slump lately) with these titles that are so good, they'll give you a book hangover. And I'm leaning into low-key quality time with friends during this busy season. Learning how to play mahjong with the gals is officially on my summer bucket list!
My mom group chat is also yapping about COVID babies heading to kindergarten this fall (yes, seriously 🥺), inexpensive summer fashion items we're loving from Amazon, lighthouse parenting, hiding the kids toys we hate (we should all be doing this, for real), and our Fourth of July plans. Have a great weekend, Everymoms! 💞

The Skimm reported that girl dads are IN. “For decades, many countries have seen skewed sex ratios due to strong cultural preferences and bias against girls”, they stated. Is this a sign of actual social progress? Is this an uncomfortable conversation when so many are just hoping for a healthy baby? To that we say, why can’t multiple things be true at once? One mom shared how she worked through her gender disappointment with us.
